I read from Microsoft help ;https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa573066.aspx.
this stated :
Use this form to reclassify a fixed asset group or fixed asset number from a specific date, or to change the number sequence code of a fixed asset group. For example, you might reclassify all of the assets in the Fixed assets in construction group to the Fixed assets group.
I have case and test in contoso DB as follow :
1. I created FA group as CIP, with value model "CIP" (non depreciated)
2. I also have FA group COMP, with value model "SL".
3. I create CIP master, and create PO to vendor Invoice for that CIP master. The result journal is correct : CIP account (Dr) to AP (Cr)
4. Then I run reclassification from CIP master to FA group COMP, but the result for COMP master does not correct. Value model for COMP master become "CIP" as well not "SL".
5. expected journal result is : COMP account (Dr) to CIP Account (Cr)
I've setup value model in FA posting profile as group for "CIP" & "SL". Am I doing something wrong in setup AX ?
please help expert.
Hello Agus, the reclassification functionality allows you transferring all transactions that have been made on a fixed asset to another one. While reclassifying your fixed asset, you can specify a different fixed asset group but you cannot specify the fixed asset as Dynmics AX is setting up the new fixed asset automatically. What happens from an accounting perspective is that all transactions that have been recorded on your "old" fixed asset are reversed and posted on the "new" asset. This means, that you do not get a simple "new asset" (debit) / "old asset" (credit) transaction. For the latter one, the split fixed asset functionality is available at the value model level. Maybe just have a look at the split functionality whether is solves your problem. All the best, Ludwig
If using split FA, I can not produce an expected journal result. I've tried to make combination of setting in asset posting profile between CIP group & COMP group, and it works.
when I run reclassification, the journal result as follows :
CIP account (dr)
COMP account (cr)
Hi Agus Setiawan,
Could you please share how do you solve this problem?
Currently I face the same issue.
Hello M. Hasan,
Do you face a similar / the same issue?
What steps have you undertaken/tested so far?
Basically I just found that fixed asset reclassification in the standard AX will retrieve all information in the source fixed asset master. My case is similar with Agus, but I have another concern which is related with value model.
For the case the source and destination fixed asset has different value model. The AX will still generate the new fixed asset using source value model. Although there is no set up in this fixed asset group.
For the case of main account I set up both value model in the same posting profile. Thus it will create 2 main account. But for the case value model, I guess i have to do some modification, so when new fixed asset is generated it will retrieve data from its value model set up.
I am trying to reclassify a fixed asset from one group to another group in D365.
I am getting below error during the process
Account for transaction type Acquisition, book XXXXX, does not exist for fixed asset XXXXXX.
I have fixed assets posting profile and I have cross checked account for acquisition do exist for both fixed assets previous fixed assets group and new fixed assets group.
Can anyone let me know why I am facing this issue, as I already have accounts for acquisition.
Can you open a new thread and attach some screenshots of your setup?
Many thanks and best regards,
Any update or solution for this issue. I am facing same issue and nowhere i find any solution to this Reclassification error.
Basically I am using the reclassification functionality and shifting asset from under Computer group to Equipment Group.
"Account for transaction type Acquisition, book Computer, does not exist for fixed asset OFF00211."
