I am trying to open a form from an application using COM.
void OpenMenuItem(string company, string menuitem, AxClientLib.AxMenuType menuitemType);

Thanks for the your valuable inputs. From what I observed from the blogs you shared, we end up extending standard start up classes. Is it supported way to do so? or will it be a problem in upgrade?
Thanks in advance.
Any customizations are supported by yourself only, not Microsoft. Customizing startup classes is OK, I have done that many times, but during an upgrade you need to remove them for the initial compilation, after which you could re-import the changes and let the code upgrade conflict detection find any issues.
