when i try to add my costume report into role center (enterprise portal)
i got this message
i've created my costume report by from InventAging report but i make it as chart
but when i can open it normal by menu item outpot
Please test your report before using it in role centers. I assume it doesn't work...
Do you intentionally use pre-processing? It's very suspicious. If the report takes a long time to generate, using it in role centers sounds like a bad idea.
And if it needs just very short time, there is no reason for pre-processing. In such a case, you should remove it (the RDP class should extend SrsReportDataProviderBase rather than SrsReportDataProviderPreProcess).
If the report takes a long time and you still want it in role centers, you could generate the data on periodic basis. The report would then simply show the data (without pre-processing, because just displaying the data isn't time-consuming).
thanks for replay the report work fine when i open it by menu item and doesn't take long time generate
i didn't know what do you mean (pre-processing) because i'm using this class (InventAgingDP) to generate my report
and how can i extend SrsReportDataProviderBase rather than SrsReportDataProviderPreProcess
and what the different between them and why should i use it??!
*** update ***
if you mean change it from class i did it
but i got this error
All right, if you don't know what pre-processing is, you should learn it, because you can't develop reports and fix problems without understand relatively basic concepts like this. The blog post Why does converting a report to pre-processing help to resolve timeout issues? might help.
I thought you had your own RDP class. You can't change the standard one, so either you'll start using your own or you'll have to fix to pre-processing. The error message suggests that your report doesn't have right parameters.
