Missing Dependency Error During Power Apps Solution Import

(0) ShareShare

I successfully imported this solution into another environment about 1–2 weeks ago without any issues. However, now when I try to import it again into a different environment, the import fails with a missing dependencies error:

Missing dependencies: msdyn_DataInsightsAndAnalyticsForFS, msdyn_InsightsAnalyticsFSConfiguration

I'm not sure why this is happening now. There is no install option.

How can I fix or bypass it and what could be causing this?

Any help is appreciated!

Missing Dependency Error During Power Apps Solution Import

    Hi CJH020796,

This kind of missing dependency error during Power Apps solution import is fairly common, especially when working with Field Service components and analytics features.

    Here's what you can do:

    1. Understand the Missing Components

    The components you're missing:

    • msdyn_DataInsightsAndAnalyticsForFS
    • msdyn_InsightsAnalyticsFSConfiguration

...are part of the Field Service Analytics and Data Insights packages. These are typically installed automatically when enabling Field Service Analytics in the target environment, but they may not be available in all regions or environments by default.

    2. How to Resolve It

    • Go to Power Platform Admin Center > Dynamics 365 Apps.
    • Look for Field Service Analytics or Data Insights for Field Service.
    • If available, install them manually in the target environment.

    If they’re not listed:

    • Try enabling Field Service Analytics from the Field Service Settings area in the app.
    • Alternatively, create a trial environment where these components are available, export them, and import them into your target environment (if licensing allows).

    3. Why It Worked Before

The environment where it worked 1–2 weeks ago likely had those components already installed or enabled. The new environment may not have the same app configuration or region availability.

    4. Bypassing the Error

Unfortunately, you cannot bypass required dependencies in managed solutions. You’ll need to either:

    • Install the missing components, or
    • Remove the dependent components from your solution (not ideal if they’re required).

Let me know if you'd like help locating the app packages or modifying your solution.

If this answer was helpful, please consider marking it as accepted.
    Best regards,
    Daniele

Missing Dependency Error During Power Apps Solution Import
The error indicates that the solution you're trying to import depends on two components that are missing from the target environment:
    msdyn_DataInsightsAndAnalyticsForFS
    msdyn_InsightsAnalyticsFSConfiguration
    1. These are typically part of Dynamics 365 Field Service analytics and insights add-ons — Microsoft may have added or enforced these dependencies in newer versions of the solution you're importing.
    2. So while the import worked previously (1–2 weeks ago), something may have changed:
    3. The solution you're importing may have been modified to include these dependencies.
    4. Or the destination environment is missing required components that were present in the original one.
    5. Microsoft may have updated managed dependencies on their end (e.g., via Field Service updates).
