Field Service Inventory Adjustments - More Than 2 Decimal Places

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to post inventory adjustments in msdyn_inventoryadjustmentproduct with more than two decimal places. I’ve already adjusted the decimal places in the product settings and set the field precision to 5 decimal places. In CRM, I can see all 5 decimal places, but when posting adjustments in Field Service, only the first two decimal places are considered.

Is there any way to enable full precision in inventory adjustments?

Best regards,

Marcel S

Hi there! Good morning, afternoon, or evening :) depending on your location!

This appears to be a limitation in the Field Service module.
The documentation: Inventory Adjustment Product (msdyn_inventoryadjustmentproduct) table/entity reference (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service) | Microsoft Learn shows that Precision is 2 for Inventory Adjustment Product Entity in Field Service.

The Ideas page where Microsoft takes into account features needed from the community lists this with 10 votes at the moment: Microsoft Idea - hopefully they'll close the gap soon...

Until then, you can create a custom field if necessary and use plug ins / workflows to intercept the adjustment process, then ensures the full prevision is maintained when posting adjustments.

    Hope this helps!

Hey thanks for your reply. Too bad that there is this limitation :/

Maybe you have an idea how I can solve this differently?

I currently have a lot of bookings between the warehouses and have to take about 5 decimal places with me.

I am currently using a Power Automate Flow, which is set so that only one booking can take place at a time. Otherwise it would happen from time to time that when a warehouse was booked at the same time, one booking would “disappear” because they were not added together but both simply took the previous quantity.

The problem with this is that it is of course incredibly slow and you can only put 100 flows in the queue.
I think I have the same problem with simultaneous bookings with a plugin, don't you?
