There's no RetailServer or RetailCloudPOS pre installed in IIS Server in VHD 10.0.41.

What is the process of setting up the Demo VM for store commerce app?

Do we have to setup Self Hosted Cloud Scale Unit now? What are the other steps to make the store commerce app fully functional?

It's been a while I have setup a Commerce VHD, this is how I used to setup ModernPOS earlier

Hello,

Yes, we have to to setup Self Hosted Cloud Scale Unit and below is the MS learn doc to perform the same.

Install Commerce Scale Unit on a development environment - Commerce | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

Additionally the process of activating store commerce is still the same as Retail Modern POS you just have to change the device application type as 'Store Commerce'.

I followed the Microsoft Document with this video

But I'm getting this error while trying to download the configuration file on Channel Database Form ie Step No 10 on this link:

Error:,
"Property LCS.LCSEnvironmentId is empty string from object instance ApplicationEnvironment."

Any idea what can be done about this?

Hello @MYGz,

For the EnvironmentId please use any non-empty value, for instance DummyValue as shown below

<add value="DummyValue" key="EnvironmentId" />

That ID is used for Application Insights telemetry purposes and if you are dealing with the local development, specifying any value there will not negatively affect your experience.

You can either manually modify the config file you might already have, or you could specify that environment ID inside the F&O's web.config

<add key="LCS.EnvironmentId" value="DummyValue" />

and then download the configuration file from within F&O, at this time it will have the EnvironmentId key populated with the value specified in the F&O's web.config.

On continuing to setup the CSU installation I'm facing this issue:

Microsoft.Dynamics.Commerce.Installers.Framework.InstallerException: AAD credentials validation has failed.

Even though I'm following the same steps in this video:

Hi @MYGz You have to setup some things in the F&O for completing it, I suggest you follow this link as well. Your CSU installation command should be similar to this
