Hi everyone,

I enabled negative physical inventory in the item model group, and the location is linked to a location profile with negative physical inventory. I also defined a location directive, where I selected "Allow negative inventory" in the location directive actions. The fixed location usage is set to fixed and non-fixed locations (I also tested it with fixed locations only). In the "Edit query," I filtered the location linked to the negative location profile. However, when I release the order to the warehouse, the work is created, but the pick location is empty.

Does anyone have suggestions to resolve this issue?

Hi!

Have you enabled the logging like work creation history log and wave processing history log in the warehouse management parameters? That is usually a good way to figure out why it is not finding/considering you location when creating the work

Hi Oscar,

Yes, they are enabled, but the work history log does not provide any additional information. It only shows that the allocation for Item XXXXXXX failed for the work order type "Sales Orders (Pick)."

In the wave processing history, it shows that the allocation for Item XXXXXXX failed.

One point to note is that when I increase the physical inventory for a specific item in the negative location and release it to the warehouse, the pick work shows the correct location (same the location in the location directive)

Hi,

Please check below for your pick location and item

1 - Check box "Physical negative inventory" on the item model group is checked

2 - Check mark "Physical negative inventory" on the Warehouse is checked

3- Check mark " Allow negative inventory" is checked on Location profile

4 - Check box "Allow negative inventory" is checked on the location directives actions

5 - In case you want to do this for production orders also make sure check mark "Allow pick work center negative" is checked (Only for production)
