    You can assign specific number sequence to a company following the steps under: 
     
    Create a new sequence number where you define the company.
     
    In product information management, parameters you assign the number sequence company specific you created.

    Were you able to set the new number sequcence ? I tried the same and couldnt set the new num seq and if I try the scope as company then the system not allowing to add the reference as Product  managament and Product number.

    I doubt you can have product number as company specific because thats global , you can setup item number as company specific.

    Microsoft has confirmed that this feature is now obsolete and has been removed starting from Platform Update 42. Just sharing the update here, as I received this information after a long wait.
