A person or employee can have two or more reporting managers. How can I assign multiple reporting managers to an employee in D365 Finance and Operation.
How can I set more than one reporting managers to a position?
Hi Tushar,
You can use the reports to position for one of the reporting managers and you can also use the relationship tab to select the other reporting manager. In case you want to use the workflow where both managers must approve create two steps and have the first step configured to line level manager and the second step do configurable hierarchy so the system will pick up that manager tagged in the relationship against the position.
But however, this depends on if all the employees have two reporting or only a few and also the manager that is tagged to the relationship tab he will not be able to view the person as a reportee in manger self-service which might become an issue and for this I think we will have to get it customized.

@MuhammadFaisal I am designing a CRM system in which an employee can have multiple reporting managers parallelly. For example, Employee A reports to three managers: X, Y, and Z.

Hello Tushar,
On the position screen you can only assign one line manager, but in the position hierarchy you can create hierarchy for the position to create a kind of Org chart.
Can you please tell us your business requirement? why you need two line managers?
How can I set more than one reporting managers to a position?
Hi,
By default, you can assign only one reporting manager to an employee. But i think you can create a custom field in the employee’s record to store the additional reporting managers’ information. This field could be a text field or a lookup field, allowing you to select multiple manager records.
How can I set more than one reporting managers to a position?
Hi Tushar,
If you go to positions > Manage timeline > Position hierarchy, you can assign here based on hierarchy. But at one time, you can have only one manager for that hierarchy during the duration.
For example
Employee A - Manager A - From 1st Jan 2023 - Current date time
Employee A - Manager B - From 1st Jan 2022 - 31 December 2022.
