Sub grid ignoring column widths

Hi,

I have a view that is used as sub grid on a form. But when displayed on the form the columns widths are not matching what has been set on the view.

As a consequence the Duration column is always far too wide so the other columns that should be wider do not show enough info.
It also causes a scroll bar to appear:

The view looks fine when displayed as a normal view and within Advanced Find:

The view has 7 columns with the following widths set:

Resource Scheduling: 200px
From Date: 100px
To Date: 100px
Duration: 75px
Resource: 100px
Status: 75px
Date Booked: 125px

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Edit: I don't know if this has any bearing on my problem but the "Duration" column is Whole Number data field on the "Resource Requirement" table with a Format=Duration

Edit 2: I have also noticed that users can resize (by dragging mouse) all the columns on the forms sub grid but NOT the "Duration" column.

    @Honbo,

I am facing similar issue. Did you find a solution for this? For me the columns cover up the whole screen even if I set smaller width, this causes unnecessary scroll and partial data is hidden

Model-Driven Apps - Grids and Sub-grids column width all shrunk to 100px

Seems like all the grids and subgrids in Model Driven Apps are now messed up this week. All the Column widths shrink to 100px width now.

I'm not sure who made changes in the last ~3 days, but clearly, nobody on the D365 Product Team did any quality control and rolled out this change affecting all users for all web browsers.

RE: Sub grid ignoring column widths

    Hi Mark,

As mentioned in my last answer, the column width in UCI will not be less than 100px.

So when there are many columns in a view, the width of each column will be guaranteed to be at least 100px. We need to drag the scroll bar to display the content outside the screen.

When there are few columns in a view, these columns will automatically adjust the scale. Basically, the main field column (shown as a hyperlink) will occupy the largest proportion, and the other columns will evenly distribute the remaining width.

    Hao,

    Thank you for the reply.

Do you know if there is any logic behind the auto column width sizing?

For example, is it based on a percentage of the column width described in the view?

    Hi Mark,

This is by-design, UCI will automatically adjust the column width to achieve the effect suitable for reading, so it will ignore the column width you set. The view used by advanced find is still the legacy interface.

You can try width setting from customizations --> Entities --> Accounts --> Views --> Set Any column width to 100px. Column width will not go below 100px irrespective of other multiple columns added.

Adding further, it there are less columns, columns width adjusted automatically to set to given grids view.

Same with width setting from personal view.
