We're starting to see customers switching to the new Outlook client but sending emails (specifically when the box to edit in outlook is checked) from the RTC client doesn't seem to work after switching. The error message is "microsoft outlook is not available" or similar. Is there any way to get email functionality working besides switching back to old outlook. BC15 (web client only) and above seem to work fine

You'll need to work with your partner to raise the bug with Microsoft. Since you're using NAV 2016, I don't think they check compatibility beyond certain versions
