User Permission / Security Role

Hi,

We are looking at implementing PO in our business and I am unable to update the permission role on our user, even though I have gone through the security steps in environments and Security roles settings.

How do I take out people who can create and write in our Apps module? I have taken the person's licence out as a test trail and they still have full permission.

Thanks
Sarah

    Thanks Erica!

I think this might have solved my problem :)

I will test trail this out with my colleague tomorrow.

    Appreciate your help!

    User Permission / Security Role
    Hi Sarah,

Here is how you can check to see if the user belongs to a team that is granting them permissions:
    1. Go to admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com and click into your environment
    2. Go to Settings > Users + Permissions > Users
    3. Click on the user in the list which should open a panel on the right side of the screen. You should see a place for Roles, which should be empty if they don't have any roles. To the right of that, you should see Teams. This will list the Teams that the user is assigned to. Make note of the ones listed there.
    4. Go to Settings > Users + Permissions > Teams
    5. Select the Team and click Manage Security Roles in the toolbar.
If there are any Security Roles selected, this means that the Team has a Security Role, and that Security Role is applied to any member of the Team.

    Hope that helps!

  • User Permission / Security Role
    Hi Erica,

Thanks for your response, yes that is what I mean. There is no role assigned to this person and they still have full permission to Project Operations. I am trying to assign them as "Project User" or " Basic User" and nothing happens.

Do you know where I can find the team that has the security role and edit from there?

    Thanks heaps!
    Sarah

    User Permission / Security Role
    Hi,

I think if you don't want the user to have access to anything, then it's either u delete the user completely. Or you remove all roles assigned to that user.

    Thanks,
    Layan Jweihan

Hi Sarah, are you saying that the user does not have any security roles assigned, but they can still edit? If so, maybe the user is assigned to a team that has a security role.
