We have a fairly vanilla implementation of Finance and operations.  What security roles should be added to a user to be able to create new, edit or delete Release products External codes?
The action menu items are disabled for everyone but the System administrator.
Securities are largely un-customised.

We’ve created a new role with Privilege “Maintain external codes” to a user with several product and warehouse related roles, but the New and Delete buttons under Product information management > Products > Released products > General > External codes, remains disabled.

    Hi,

The privilege Maintain external codes is leveraged under Duty Maintain Warehouse Master Data, Inquire Into Warehouse operation master  and the security role assigned for the same are:
    1. Process Engineer
    2. Warehouse Manager
    3. Warehouse Planner
    4. Process Engineering manager
    5. Retail Service
    6. Production supervisor
    7. Accounts receivable payments clerk
    8. Accounts receivable centralized payments clerk
    9. Retail Service (Clerk)

If you do a Security diagnostics under Options section in the same screen External codes you will be able to find the list of duties, privileges and roles associated with this screen.

Thank you Andre, your suggestion worked.

In answer to your questions, the securities was configured from the front-end, not development.  And it was publish.

    Hi Celeste,

I just tried having a user with the Product designer manager role and a new role with the privilege Maintain external codes. This is working correctly in my environment. Can you tell if you used the Security configuration form or development in Visual Studio to create the new role?

In the case of configuration, did you publish the role including the privilege?
In case of development, did you perform a full database log after the build?

Have you also checked if the permissions on the privilege are not adjusted? Could there be another privilege with deny permissions or table overrides?
